Who am I - Professionally?

Welcome to my ePortfolio! I am a public health nurse from Burlington, Ontario. I completed the Practical Nursing program at Conestoga College and then promptly went on to complete the Diploma RPN to BScN program with McMaster University and graduated in 2017. I had the privilege of completing my final nursing placement with the sexual health and harm reduction program in Halton Region which ultimately led me to securing a contract and several years later a permanent full time position.

I have always had a passion for helping people, therefore nursing as a profession definitely stood out to me. Not to mention nursing as a career, sort of runs in my family! I guess you could say it was meant to be. As a Registered Nurse, I am professionally obligated to maintain registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and renew my membership annually. I have been registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario since 2014. As a public health nurse in Halton Region, I am also a member of the Ontario Nurses Association. One of the defining factors that lead me to choose nursing as a career is the versatility the profession provides. I have always had plans to further my education and started the Master of Health Studies program with Athabasca University in January of 2021. I hope that through completion of this program, I will gain new insight on what leadership means in the dynamic, ever changing world of healthcare. I hope to utilize this ePortfolio as a digital collection to highlight my academic and professional career as well as my ability to curate resources. I also hope to further develop my online professional identity.
